Dr. MARY KOOY

Dr. Kooy is a Professor with the Department of Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning at OISE. Her research interests focus on teacher education/development, teacher knowledge, women in teaching, narrative, teacher book clubs, communities of learning/practice, constructivism, and English education.

CARLOS OSSA ILLANES

Carlos is a Chilean doctoral candidate in the Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development PhD porgram at OISE. He is also Assistant Professor at the Departamento de Estudios Pedagogicos at the Unversidad de Chile, in Santiago since 2001. His teaching and research interests move around curriculum and theory of Education, teachers professional knowledge, epistemology,  teacher identity, assessment and learning, and hermeneutics. Carlos' background includes teaching Hispanic literature and linguistics in Chilean secondary schools, and teaching Spanish in England and in Canada. Unpublished poet, he uses poetry to express aspects of professional life that do not fit into academic expression.

MIMI MASSON

Mimi is a doctoral candidate in Languages & Literacies Education at OISE/University of Toronto. Her research interests into multi/plurilignual education stem from her own experiences as a speaker of French, English, Spanish and Japanese. Having worked as a language teacher from K-8 in various contexts, she believes teachers engaged in their own learning makes for more powerful student learning.
